I have children, work full time, go to school and still have a family life, but you know what, we as parents have to do what we have to do to get where we need to be. We are just not a parent alone, we wear many, many, hats for example we are doctors, refrees when needed and that is just to name a few. Out here in the real world is not easy, especially in todays society but we just have to stay strong, forcus and just keep pushing for what we want for ourselves like finishing college to be a positive role model for others and a positive role model for our children as well. Remember nothing comes easy because if it did we would not care as much but when we work hard for something we really want we tend to value it more much much more.
Those three things are cool and let's throw another in for good measure: a social life!! It's tough, tough, tough & tough, I don't know how I make it through the day(s) with my weekdays being consumed with work and school and my weekends being bambared with house work and the kids. *sigh* But we just gotta "do it"!! If a better life for yourself and your kids is what your goals is then just push and keep on pushing, it is not an easy road as Debi said but let me ask you this: If you could do it over, if there was a RESET button for life, would you do anything differently, and if you did change things,d o you think you would you be happy?
To answer Tension's question, if I had to do it all over again, the one thing I would change is to go to college after graduation from High School, but in terms of all the other stuff I would not have changed anything elas. In terms as to being happy, Yes I am because I have grown children, no grand children and I am now doing what I have always wanted to do go to college.
I marvel at parents and their ability to keep it all together. Single parents, particularly. I am a part-time, sometimes, for a few minutes, parent. I will take a god-child or a friend's child for an activity. My energy level burns down real fast on these occasions. Parents are to be commended regularly. I think I'm gonna call my mother now :)!
I don't have kids. Yet parents who have a whole family manage their time better than me. I look at my mom for example and she impresses me everyday. She tries to take extra classes, she works full time, takes care of her home and family. It takes alot of dedication to do all of these at the same time. I need tips before I start procreating. It seems I am heading danger zone.lol
Well I am a father to a very Handsome son I must say :D It has been really difficult to be away from him during this period of college life, that is why every opportunity I get I go home to be with him.Parenting takes a lot of dedication and time management. Family support can help a whole lot as well, once you have your family backing you, you can get through the school, work and parenting.
Well i don't have any children of my own as yet, i've been "step-father" to some, uncle to others etc. but i must say I love the word WOMAN.... i must give it up to all you parents especially single parent moms. I admire those of you who shoulder your responsibilities as mothers and still juggle the other demands that life has on your time. For those who are new to it or having doubts please keep your heads up and trust me things will get better for you are the most strongest beings on the earth. I apologize for the lack of real men to help you shoulder these responsibilities but i must also give recognition to the men who are making a difference and trying their best to better themselves and be there not only for you beautiful women but for their children as well. I plan to join those ranks as well some day soon.
Yes I have a child a beautiful little girl. I do believe that its tough raising a child and going to school plus working. I'm a full-time mom and student, don't work. It's a lil challenging when it comes to studying but I manage. I guess llearning how to prioritize yourself may help alot which I don't.
I don't have any kids at this time, but interesting topic. I know it most not be easy and is a lot to take on by yourself, especially if your a single parent. All I can say is just hold your head up hi and stay strong it will all work out in the long run.

ReplyDeleteI am not a parent but I would imagine the first thing to do is to pray to the Lord for strength and guidance.
